Tonight the finalists of the 56th International Vocal Competition 's-Hertogenbosch (IVC), LiedDuo category have been announced. The semi-finals were held on Wednesday 11 and Thursday 12 October. Four duos, consisting of a singer and a pianist, have qualified for the final on Sunday 15 October in the Verkadefabriek in 's-Hertogenbosch.

The IVC is the only Dutch international classical vocal competition and attracts singers and pianists of all nationalities. For many, participating means a springboard to the musical top. This year, almost 100 duos registered. Only fourteen of them were selected to compete for a place in the final. All musicians had to compile their recital programs themselves within the specified standards of the competition. The only obligatory work for all duos is always the Prize Song; this year and in 2024 it will be Veronese's Green by composer Bart Visman and lyricist Marc Pantus.

During the LiedDuo competition, both the vocalists and the pianists are judged. This year, the jury during the semi-finals and the final consists of baritone Bo Skovhus, (jury president), mezzo-soprano Sophie Koch, composer Errollyn Wallen, pianists Hans Eijsackers, Nino Gvetadze and Stefan Vladar, also conductor. They nominated the following four duos for the IVC LiedDuo Prize 2023:
