Vocal accompaniment IVC singers during the Liszt Competition

01 November 2014 New this year at the Franz Liszt Piano Competition is the vocal accompaniment by IVC singers.

Joop Daalmeijer, chairman of the International Jury of the 10th International Franz Liszt Piano Competition, announced which candidates will go through to the Semi-Finals. Nine of the 23 pianists who took part in the Quarter-Finals over the past few days have been selected. These participants will attent the Semi-Finals from Saturday 1 November until Tuesday 4 November.

Semi-Finals with vocal accompaniment
During the Semi-Finals the participants will play a recital of 55 minutes. New this year is the performance of two Lied pieces of Franz Liszt, together with soprano Estefanía Perdomo Nogales and tenor Peter Gijsbertsen. This vocal accompaniment is a collaboration with the International Vocal Competition 's-Hertogenbosch.

The Franz Liszt Piano Competition
The Competition has been held every three years in Utrecht, the Netherlands since 1986. The Competition is devoted entirely to the piano works by Franz Liszt and application is open to pianists between the ages of 17 and 29. In addition to more than € 50,000 in prize money, every Prize winner can expect an extensive Career Development Programme with a national and international tour and CD release.
