01 September 2015 Meet world-renowned singers, pianists and a conductor during this intensive week of training.

World-famous singers stay at ‘s-Hertogenbosch from this weekend on. During the Summer School on Russian repertoire they will train the talented 22 singers and 2 pianists. We present to you the masters: mezzo-soprano Larissa Diadkova, soprano Elena Vassilieva and baritone Sergei Leiferkus. The coaches will be pianist Liubov Orfenova, conductor Alexander Humala and pianist Irina Sisoyeva.

Masters

The masters
Several awards are handed to this soprano. Elena Vassilieva has won prizes such as the 1^st prize at the International Mozart Competition. Many composers, like A. Raskatov and I. Tcherepnin, have written especially for her. The celebrated mezzo-soprano Larissa Diadkova sang at The Metropolitan Opera, The Royal Opera House and many more leading opera houses around the world. Later this season she will play the Countess in Pique Dame at the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam. Baritone Sergei Leiferkus is considered one of the world’s most renowned performing artists. The singer’s repertoire includes 50 opera roles and he has recorded almost 40 cd’s. He recently played at the spectacular opera A Dog’s Heart, together with Elena Vassilieva, at the Dutch National Opera. Read more about the masters.

Coaches

The coaches
Pianist Liubov Orfenova works for leading opera houses and tours frequently with singers such as baritone Sergei Leiferkus. She has a lot knowledge of Russian music, which she will share with the Summer School participants. Conductor Alexander Humala made his debut in 2003 at the Belarusian State Academy of Music Chamber Orchestra. In this year he also made his international debut. This season the conductor will work with the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra and many more. Pianist Irina Sisoyeva will provide piano accompaniment and language coaching during the Summer School. Currently she works for the Dutch National Opera. She has played for events such as Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, the Rotterdam Philharmonic Gergiev Festival and Opera Days Rotterdam.
