Vacancy: Communication & Marketing Specialist (16–20 hours)

The International Vocal Competition ’s-Hertogenbosch (IVC) is the international singing competition for which the world has been coming to Den Bosch for over 70 years. In addition, we are committed year-round to the development of classical singing in the Netherlands, through masterclasses, laureates’ concerts and talent development programmes.

To strengthen our team, we are looking for a strategically strong, content-driven and practically minded Communication & Marketing Specialist who will further expand our positioning nationally and internationally.

Your role

As a Communication & Marketing Specialist, you are responsible for the strategic development and implementation of the IVC brand and communication strategy. You operate at the intersection of branding, audience development, fundraising and partner communication.

You work closely with our General and Artistic Director and ensure that young singers, partners, sponsors and audiences are reached clearly, professionally and in a timely manner.

What will you do?

  • Develop and implement marketing and communication plans (online and offline) for competitions, concerts, educational projects and partner activities.
  • Translate strategy into concrete campaigns and content (NL/EN), including writing and editing press releases, website texts, newsletters and social media content, in collaboration with the Creative Team.
  • Optimise digital channels (website, social media, newsletter) based on analytics and KPI monitoring.
  • Coordinate cross-promotions and marketing partnerships with national and international cultural institutions.
  • Provide and analyse audience and communication data to support grant applications, fund reporting and stakeholder accountability.
  • Support development and relationship events, including targeted communication towards donors, sponsors and Friends of IVC.
  • Provide hands-on support during competitions and concerts.
  • Manage strategic relationships with sponsors and private stakeholders, with a focus on sustainable collaboration and reputation management.
  •

What do you bring?

  • Minimum higher professional education (HBO) level in communication, marketing or arts & cultural management.
  • Proven experience in communication, marketing and/or content creation, preferably within the cultural or non-profit sector.
  • Strategic insight combined with strong execution skills.
  • Experience with CRM systems, email marketing tools and web analytics.
  • Excellent writing skills in Dutch and English.
  • Affinity with (classical) music and performing arts.

What do we offer?

  • An inspiring position within an internationally renowned cultural organisation.
  • A key role within a compact and committed team with short communication lines.
  • Strategic responsibility with room for personal initiative.
  • Flexible working arrangements (hybrid/remote); during competitions and concerts you will be present in ’s-Hertogenbosch.
  • Competitive remuneration, depending on experience and form of collaboration.

About IVC

IVC is one of the world’s most prestigious international singing competitions. Since its founding in 1954 in ’s-Hertogenbosch, IVC has grown into an international springboard for young classical vocal talents. Each year we organise competitions, masterclasses and talent development programmes in which quality, expression and craftsmanship are central.

IVC is an agile organisation with short communication lines, a small core team and a network of dedicated freelancers. The director largely works remotely. This requires someone who works independently, shows initiative, provides structure and feels comfortable in an international context.
