The IVC Singer Sessions is open to all singers of all nationalities who have finished a formal singing education or are studying at a conservatory and aspire to have a professional singing career.

Max. 34 jaar during the masterclass week
Participants may not be younger than 18 years.
3 solo arias chosen from the following composers: Händel – Mozart – Rossini – Verdi – Wagner – Puccini
3 Art Songs: 1 German, 1 French en 1 English song
1 or 2 operetta or classical musical theater arias
The program for the final concert will be chosen by the General & Artistic Director of the IVC, Andrew Watts. The program will consist of some standard duets and ensembles that will be made known to the participants before the start of the program.
The masterclasses will be given in English.
€ 500 – Including lunch and dinner
The course fee should be paid upon acceptance to teh course. The total fee includes 21% VAT and all service fees.
Incase of financial hardship, we encourage singers to apply for the IVC ‘Hardship Fund’. To apply for this fund, we require a short motivation explaining the need for the financial support. Where possible, please include any and all documentation to support this (for example: approval of a scholarship for tuition, a recent payslip or other evidence of low income). All information will be handled with the strictest confidence.
Accommodation for all singers of the IVC Singer Sessions will be provided by host families in ‘s-Hertogenbosch free of charge.

During the IVC Singer Sessions 2025, there will be a unique opportunity for amateur singers to work with none other than Andrew Watts, one of the most talked-about countertenors of our time as well as artistic director of the IVC. He has performed in top venues such as the Royal Opera House London, La Scala Milan and the Staatsoper in Berlin, and is also an inspired voice teacher at the Guildhall School in London. In this special workshop, Andrew Watts accompanies nine enthusiastic singers individually in a relaxed, inspiring setting.
Piano accompaniment is provided by IVC Prize winner and regular competition pianist Ian Tindale.
