Every two years, the IVC commissions a new composition to be performed by the candidates in the semi-finals. For the next edition this will be "The gold of Vermeer" by Bart Visman (composer) and Marc Pantus (lyricist). They talk about creating new work for singers. IVC laureate Peter Gijsbertsen (tenor) sings a beautiful cycle of them and also an aria from an opera together with Marc Pantus (lyricist and bass-baritone). There is also work by Mozart, Poulenc, Bernstein and Hough. Pianist: Yvonne Gesler

In November, come to a week of singing and thinking about the future of singing in 's-Hertogenbosch. The International Vocal Competition organizes the IVC Mozart Masterclass & More, given by three renowned masters: mezzo-soprano Vesselina Kasarova, soprano Roberta Alexander and baritone Thomas Oliemans. They work with eight soloists on repertoire by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. In addition, leading professionals such as Sarah Connolly (mezzo-soprano and IVC laureate), Manuel Brug (opera journalist Die Welt), Rosemary Joshua (Dutch National Opera Studio) and Joan Matabosch (Teatro Real Madrid) talk with the participants about the future of their profession.

The masterclass week opens on November 28 with an IVC laureate concert in which soprano Bernadeta Astari, mezzo-soprano Nina van Essen and tenor Anton Kuzenok perform. On November 29, the lyricist Marc Pantus and composer Bart Visman speak about their composition, the new IVC prize song "The Gold of Vermeer". IVC-laureate and Dutch Music Prize winner, tenor Peter Gijsbertsen, performs compositions by this Duo. On December 2, a Forum takes place about the future as it now looks for (young) singers. The masterclass participants end their course week with a concert on December 3. Celebrated Dutch soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek and members of the South Netherlands Philharmonic conclude IVC-The World keeps on Singing during the closing concert on 4 December.The programme includes Hector Berlioz' Les nuits d'été.
