Maximilian Vogler
Born in the south of Germany, the young tenor Maximilian Vogler early on discovered his passion for music, learning oboe and piano, before he focused on a professional singing career. Meanwhile he is appearing on concert stages throughout all of Germany and Switzerland. His core repertoire at the moment are oratorios and other sacred vocal works, spanning from early baroque to contemporary pieces. The part of the evangelist in J.S. Bach’s oratorios and passions is especially engaging to him, due to the inevitable involvement of the text in the musical performance.Connected to this attraction to sung language, a particular emphasis of his creative work lies on the Lied. For his bachelor’s degree from 2012 – 2016, he studied at the Music University Detmold, Germany with Prof. Gerhild Romberger. Since 2016 he has been pursuing a masters degree at the Zurich University of the Arts, studying with Werner Güra. Masterclasses with Margreet Honig, Ann Murray, Robert Holl, Thomas Hampson, Benjamin Appl, Graham Johnson, Malcom Martineau and Julius Drake have further shaped his artistic competence. He is a scholar of the Lyra foundation, LiedBASEL 2019 as well as a finalist in the International Schubert Liedduo Competition 2018.
