Successful opening Wagner Academy

23 September 2013 On Sunday 22 September the Wagner Academy was successfully opened at Theater aan de Parade.

On Sunday 22 September the Wagner Academy was successfully opened at Theater aan de Parade. Soprano Deirdre Judith Angenent started directly with 'Dich treure Halle', accompanied by pianist Peter Lockwood.

After a warm welcome by general manager Annett Andriesen, Dr. Catherine Steinegger started her interesting lecture 'Wagner's Ring in the version by Chéreau and Boulez'. After her lecture, 'The Making Of The Ring' was on show, a documentary about the Chéreau/Boulez interpretation of Wagner's Ring in Bayreuth in 1976.

Of course all participants, masters and coaches were introduced by Annett Andriesen. The afternoon ended with several solo performances by tenor Brendan Sliger, soprano Anne Funck Hansen, soprano Ruth Willemse, soprano Marceline Beucher and bas baritone Dashon Burton (photo).
