Dame Kiri Te Kanawa

Dame Kiri Te Kanawa
Kiri Te Kanawa was born in New Zealand with European and Maori heritage. By the time she was 20 she had won the major vocal prizes available in the South Pacific, and had also started her recording career - unusual for a prima donna in any era. In 1965 she moved to London to study at the London Opera Centre. Recently she played the role of opera singer Dame Nellie Melba in the popular dramaseries 'Downton Abbey'.

Jesus Iglesias Noriega

Jesús Iglesias Noriega
The Spaniard Jesús Iglesias Noriega studied at the University of Oviedo and in Madrid. He began his career in 1995, at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires as an assistant to the artistic director, after which he worked until 1997 in the communications department. Since January 2002 Jesús Iglesias Noriega has worked at the Teatro Real as Head of Artistic Affairs. Iglesias Noriega was a member of the jury at such important international vocal competitions as the Elardo International Opera Competition (Bruges) and the International Singing Contest ‘Francisco Viñas’ (Barcelona). In May 2012 he was appointed head of Artistic Affairs at Dutch National Opera.

Irwin Gage

Irwin Gage
Based in Germany, the American pianist Irwin Gage has become one of the best-known piano accompanists for German and other Lieder singers. Among the internationally famous vocal artists who have requested him for their recitals are Arleen Auger, Francisco Araiza, Peter Schreier, René Kollo, Lucia Popp, François Le Roux, Jessye Norman, Gundula Janowitz, Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Cheryl Studer, Cornelia Kallisch, Tom Krause, and Julie Kaufmann. Gage also has a strong interest in continuing the great tradition of Lieder recitals, and, therefore, pays close attention to emerging younger singers. He is a co-founder and regular participant in the "Freunde des Liedes" series, which, five times a year, presents several young singers.
