Great start of the Summer School

05 September 2015 Today we have started the Summer School on Russian repertoire. It was a successful first day!

Many impressions
“Welcome to the Netherlands!” Annett Andriesen, general manager of the IVC, welcomed the participants and masters of the Summer School on Russian repertoire at the Theater aan de Parade. After their rehearsals, the young singers had to perform on stage. A great moment for both participants and masters to get to know each other. We have enjoyed more than 20 promising performances. Andriesen: “Don’t be afraid or nervous. Let’s enjoy this Summer School together!” After taking a group picture and having dinner, the singers went back to the classrooms for coaching from world-famous masters. Tonight they will return to their host families with many impressions.

Mezzo-soprano Irina Bedicova from Moldova: “Last year I visited the 50th edition of the IVC. One of the singers I have listened to was Gulnara Shafigullina. She is one of the Summer School participants as well. I really hope to be part of the next edition. Recently I have finished my study at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague and now I’m ready for the world! This week I hope to learn from the experiences of our masters. I also hope to get some good tips and tricks. Of course I am here as well to get to know other singers from all over the world and to share our aspirations.”

Attend the master classes this Sunday
We invite you attend the public master classes this Sunday 6 September at the Theater aan de Parade. Learn more from both baritone Sergei Leiferkus (2:30 pm) and mezzo-soprano Larissa Diadkova (7:30 pm). A ticket costs only € 10,- (€ 5,- for students). These are on sale at the theatre (also online).
