The International Vocal Competition ’s-Hertogenbosch is the sole classical vocal competition in the Netherlands that involves oratorio and art song as well as opera, with much attention also being paid to 20th century and to contemporary music. It is a unique cultural institution with long-standing connections to the province of North Brabant and to the city of ’s-Hertogenbosch.

In September 2016 the Lied Duo category of the 51st Competition was organized, the Opera | Oratorio category will follow in September 2017. In 2018 the 52nd IVC - Opera | Oratorio is organized. 

The IVC is open to professional singers of all nationalities, who have completed their professional education or are currently in their final year and aim for a professional career or have an equivalent level of training.

Accompaniment in the Preliminary Rounds 
Participants in the Opera | Oratorio category may bring their own accompanist.
If this is not possible, a pianist is provided by the IVC for an additional fee of € 25
